Southland Herb Society’s Herb Awareness activity
Southland Herb Society celebrated Herb Awareness earlier this month by combining with Southland Heritage month. They celebrated the life of Olive Dunn. Olive was instrumental in forming the Southland Herb Society in 1981 and she went on to become a life member. She also was a celebrated and well known personality in Invercargill through her florist shop and tearooms called Florista. The Southland Herb Society organised a Tussie mussie workshop for members of the public and this was well attended by 21 people who all went home with at least one tussie mussie they had each made. They also heard about the role Olive played in her love of herbs and flowers through the Herb Society and her business Florista.
